#36 Bake bread

Started of the New Year with baking bread
It was delicious
However, it lasted about 3.5 seconds
Unless I stopped working, got up at 4.30 am and baked three loaves a day we won't be having hand made bread during the week!

  1. Have you seen the book "Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day?" It's been out a few years, but it's a good one...if only I could convince the hubby he likes this kind of bread! Your loaf looks delicious!

  2. The bread looks so good! I would pass up dessert for a good slice of bread! Enjoy it as a treat whenever you have a chance to make it. That is another item crossed off the list!

  3. Would love to have a slice of your bread! (I'm supposed to be gluten free, but it looks wonderful). Love your list of 40 things. I'm well past 40, but would love to join you for several of them--you have a good list!

  5. I have made bread from the Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a day that Katie recommended. It is a great process. It really only takes a short time to form the loaf. The process has you make dough for 5 loaves at one time, then divide and cook a different day. It is great bread.

Here is the link for the basic recipe, which is now found on the Gold Medal bag.

  6. A slice of aged cheddar, a crisp apple and you have lunch! Maybe it's the one Katie has mentioned but I'm sure I've seen a recipe for one that proves overnight in the refrigerator. Still, you would be hard pressed to keep the hungry hoardes at your place in crust!
